Mowing

Early spring

Very gently rake up leaves and broom  the salt and sand off the lawn.  Mow at 1” - 1 1/2” tall for the first cutting.

Early summer

Mow at no less than  2 1/2” to 3”  through early fall

The taller lawn will help with reducing weed growth.

Late fall

Lower your mower the cooler it gets. As temperatures fall below 60 degrees lower your mowing height to 2” - 2 1/2”

Early winter

When temperatures fall below 50 degrees mow at 1 1/2”

Text Box: Did you know?
Improper mowing causes weeds!
Yes, it’s true!  You set your mower to the proper height and go..right?
No.  Keep in mind that when you mow along the street and you drop the wheel into the street the mower blade gets much closer to the ground.  This area is where you end up scalping the lawn and causing and environment that allows crabgrass to get started.  Once started, it is a bugger to get back under control.
Any area where you allow the grass to get too short weeds will grow.  No product or service will save you.  This takes extra care.  To get assistance with this please contact the office for assistance/advise.
